    About Luanna Olthoff

I received my masters of arts degree in educational psychology and counseling from the University of South Dakota. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Mental Health, and a Licensed Addictions Counselor. I hold a Qualified Mental Health Professional endorsement, which is required for some insurance companies. I have been providing counseling services for 23 years.

    Specialty Areas:

I organize my practice in the pursuit of discovering Grace, healing, and balanced living. Areas of interest for me include individual therapy for adults dealing with life transitions, healing from trauma and/or abuse, restoring difficult relationships, or looking for balance and support in their lives. I am also interested in individual and family therapy for adolescents working through emotional or behavioral problems, struggling with the challenges of growing up in a media-rich society, or dealing with difficult life circumstances. I provide assessment and therapy for those engaged in addictive behaviors, and also for those who love them. I have extensive experience in providing services for the Native American community, and have a strong interest in historical trauma and grief.

    My Philosophy

“Start where you are” is a guiding principle in my work and in my life. I strive to meet my clients in their present experience, incorporating compassion and gentleness into our sessions together. Our work is a collaborative effort, combining my years of clinical experience with my clients’ inner wisdom to pursue improved quality of life.
